Missing Addends. By: Mrs. Moore. Main Idea: Teaching Target. I will use subtraction facts to help find missing addends. You can use a related subtraction fact to help find a missing addend. For example: 8+ = 17 17-8 = 9 So 8 + 9 = 17 9 is the missing addend.

  5. Find the missing addend, draw dots to help. • 5 + = 11 • 11 – 5 = • 6

  6. Here is another example of related facts. • Remember: • 14-9=5 • 9+5=14

  7. Try these: • 7 – 2 = • + 2 = 7 • 5 • 15 - = 7 • 7 + = 15 • 8
