  4. Mission Statement SERVICE-LEARNING is where the four cornerstones connect. SERVICE-LEARNING builds community by developing positive, reciprocal relationships between APU and the local private and public sectors in order to enhance scholarshipof faculty, students, and community partners through serviceactivities, which integrate faith in Christ with service and learning.

Service-Learning Statistics, Fall 2008 • Over 1,200 undergraduate students enrolled in service learning classes • 62 service learning courses, covering a variety of disciplines, 18 of 19 academic departments… • Hundreds ofagency partners annually, providing a broad range of services to meet critical needs across the region, e.g. homelessness, after-school programs, elderly support and special needs children and adults • 35 local public and private schools
