  3. New Supplier this Year – Pecatonica River • Great Taste • Tins are back • More for the money* • Average 15% more sales • 70% of sales still goes to scouts • Half of that goes to the pack *On many comparable items

How to Sell • Take Orders • Go door to door and take popcorn orders for delivery in November • Use Last Year’s list • Emphasize new great tastes • Reminder: Tins make great holiday gifts • Work, office, friends and family or take to a holiday party! • Sell Online • Now personalized for scout • Reach friends and family who live far away • Orders ship directly to the consumer • Online Sales count toward the Scout Rewards program • Sell at Work • New “Table Tents” to put on desk

  5. Door to Door Selling Guidelines • Don’t sell door to door alone • Wear your uniform • Take a buddy with you • Introduce yourself • Tell the customer why you are selling popcorn • Show the customer the order form • Use good manners • Always say thank you whether they ordered or not

  6. Role Play • (Wear torn shirt with muddy pants). Hey. I have to sell popcorn. What’s this for? So I can win cash prizes. Thanks but I’m not interested. (Door closes) • (Wear full uniform) Good afternoon. My name is Joe Smith (say your name). Would you like to support cub scouts this year. Yes. We are selling popcorn to go camping. Here is what I have available. Hand them order form and make a sale.

  7. Pack goal is same as last year • $300 per scout • Incentives are different this year • $5 to Menchie’s* for $150 in sales by Oct 16 • $20 Bill if hit Pack’s Goal for your scout - $300 by Oct 26 *Substitute Available

  8. Other Incentives (see handout): • Raffles on Sep 11th and Oct 16th • “Mid-point” award on Oct 16th • Multiple final awards • Pack: Cash • Council: Multiple Prize Levels • Council Bonus: Events and Blast Bow

  9. Key Dates: • Start selling NOW! • Sep 1st– On-line sales start. (Email Dan Gentile to set up) • Sep. 11th– Pack Meeting. Popcorn Sales Raffle. Sell at least 1 item and earn 1 ticket. Earn additional tickets for each $50 in sales. 4 Prizes: $5 to Menchie’s (substitute available). Top four sellers draw tickets. • Oct. 16th– Pack meeting. Popcorn Sales Raffle. Sell at least 3 items and earn 1 ticket. Earn additional tickets for each $100 in sales. Prizes: $5, $10, $20 bills. Top three sellers draw tickets. PLUS anyone with $150 or more in sales earns $5 to Menchie’s(substitute available). • Oct. 26th– LAST DAY to turn in popcorn order forms and prize orders to Dan Gentile. • Nov. 13th– Pack meeting. Popcorn pickup - START DELIVERING! • Nov. 28th– All popcorn money due to Dan Gentile.

Final Reminders • Set a Personal Goal – What incentive would you like? • Raffle in two weeks • One ticket for any sale • An additional ticket for each $50 in sales • Giving away four gift certificates to Menchie’s ($5 each) • Top four sellers pull the raffle tickets • Samples: Taste ONE popcorn kernel from the samples. • Contact me with any question.
