  2. Southeast! The southeast is a really fun place to visit! A lot of people visit the southeast every year, because the southeast has so much to offer! To find out all this region has to offer keep reading! Okefenokee Swamp, Georgia Florida Keys

  3. States of the Southeast There are 12 states in the southeast region. The 12 states and there capitals are: • Kentucky, Frankfort • Tennessee, Nashville • West Virginia, Charleston • Virginia, Richmond • North Carolina, Raleigh • South Carolina, Columbia • Florida, Tallahassee • Georgia, Atlanta • Mississippi, Jackson • Alabama, Montgomery • Arkansas, Little Rock • Louisiana, Baton Rouge

  4. Natural Resources There are many natural resources in this region. Some of the main natural resources are: • Trees • Coal • Oil and Natural gas • Fish • Limestone • Zinc • Rich Farmland

  5. Landforms There are many landforms in the Southeast! Some of them are: • Mountains Smoky Mts., Appalachian Mts. • Beaches Myrtle Beach and the rest of the Atlantic Coast. The beach line is called the coastal plain because it’s the coast and its flat like a plain.

  6. Bodies of Water There are 4 major bodies of water in this region they are: • Mississippi River • Atlantic Ocean • Ohio River • Gulf of Mexico

  7. Climate The southeast has a very mild climate. Many retirees come here because of the mild climate. Some people called sunbirds come here during the winter because its not real cold. Florida is also in the sunbelt. This region also gets many hurricanes between August and November. The mild climate is from the ocean affect. Ocean affect is where the breeze off the ocean warms up the land around it.

  8. Industries The southeast has a lot of different industries like: • Farming (dairy, beef, and crops) • Paper Mills • Food Manufacturing • Space Industry • Lumber Jack • Furniture Making • Mining

  9. Places to Visit The southeast is my favorite region because of all the places there are to visit! Some of the places are: • Disney World • The Atlantic Coast • Kentucky Derby • Space Centers (Kennedy Space Center) • And all the wonderful Beaches!!

  10. Fun Facts!! Alabama:1. On a Sunday you are not allowed to play solitaire or dominoes! 2. After dark on a Wednesday you are not allowed to sell peanuts! Arkansas:1.A man can beat his wife but only 1 time per month! Florida:1. Its against the law to put livestock on a school bus! Georgia:1. Its illegal to tie a giraffe to a telephone pole! Tennesee:1. Its illegal to take a skunk across state lines!!

Cattle rustling is punishable by hanging!! Virginia:1. Its illegal to tickle woman!! West Virginia:1. Its illegal to sleep on a train!! North Carolina:1. if you are in the city limits its illegal for you to sneeze!! South Carolina:1. You must be 18 to use a pinball machine!!
