  1. The process of Doing By Coco Palomeque How Do I………? Everything we set out to do has a process. When we are unsure of the how in that process we develop certain feelings that can undermine our chances of success. Being aware of those feelings is the first step in the process of doing.

  2. The How in What we Do When we have a task at hand, we usually ask ourselves HOW am I going to do that? We tend to jump to the HOW Without considering our Feelings towards the task.

  3. What am I doing? Organize an event, send an Evite, draft a letter, start a company, look for a job, write a book, make a phone call, make dinner, have a party…… you name it. Life is full of tasks, projects and things we need or want to DO. We are all Bussy Bees…….

  4. Jumping to the HOW “Either Or” scenario Jumping to the how causes you to react to feelings rather than understand them and address them: Positive Feelings: Task is easy  done successfully  you are happy and satisfied  Negative Feelings: Task is Hard  you struggle  you are frustrated and sad 

  5. Be aware of your feelings. Feelings can sabotage the success of your task. Before tackling your task ask yourself: - What do I think of this task? Am I happy to do it? Or is it an obligation? - Does this intimidate me? Am I afraid I will fail? - Am I confused as to what exactly I need to do? Once you are aware of your feelings……..

  6. Tackle your feelings first! • Identify the feeling: Fear, confusion, lack of motivation... (source of all feelings: Love & Fear) • Understand the feeling: Why do I feel this way? - Have I tried this before and failed? - Am I confused because I do not have enough information to do what I am asked to do? - Am I not motivated because I am not sure of the pay off for me? • Tackle your feelings.

  7. Identifying feelings Most Feelings fall into one of these two categories: LoveFear compassion Anxiety Trust Control Happiness Inadequacy satisfaction Anger

  8. Why do I feel…..? Anxious  I am afraid I will fail, look bad, realize I have no friends,……..  anxiety grows  task becomes more difficult to perform. Angry  I am afraid I am not worthy, others will not think much of me,…..  anger grows  Task becomes more difficult to perform.

  9. Tackle your feelings/Reality CheckChallenge negative NotionsOpen Possibilities You have identify and understood your feeling and you come up with this statement: “I feel anxious because I am afraid I will fail” Apply the Reality Check Method: I feel….., but how trueis it? Have I tried to do this before and failed? What is different now? Have I ever succeeded performing a task? What will I do to prevent failure? How much do I want to do this and do it well? How will I feel when it is done?

  10. Decide what to do with your feeling Feelings are here to stay   They rule your live They are part of your live   You are a prisoner You are a free person
