  2. TAS\TEPPC Approved Functional Guidelines - 2008 Recommendation by Validation Task Force (VTF) • Under the direction of TAS, VTF shall review, recommend, and develop system data and models for use by TEPPC and WECC members in Economic studies. • The VTF will: • Review and recommend updates to the TEPPC database • Explore, evaluate, and recommend new system modeling techniques that may be of interest to TEPPC • Validate modeling and performance by comparing historic system data against simulation results • Coordinate need amongst the four work groups • Design and document new models, as required, for TAS approval

  3. Specific Modeling Verifications Needs • DC Line Modeling • Hydro Modeling • Load Following • Proportional Load Following • Dynamic Load Modeling • Loss Calculation • Phase Shifting Transformers • Wind generator modeling – dynamic modeling

  4. Model Compatibility • Collaboration includes • Involve Vendors to bench mark data conversion between different formats. Conduct bench mark, completing the “around” trip back to GridView. • Use the “Mini System” to benchmark results of the various algorithms for different models • WECC: Maintaining a list of differences. Document magnitude of differences and related explanations • Going Forward • Implement a software developer collaboration agreement
