The ESD Toolkit Initiative has been a pivotal resource for local authorities in the UK since its inception in 2002, designed to streamline service delivery and improve customer access. With over 14,000 users, it promotes best practices and encourages partnership between local governments and private sectors. The toolkit offers guidance on standards, service classification, and infrastructure management, facilitating enhanced communication and collaboration among agencies. Key objectives include facilitating knowledge sharing, supporting process changes, and improving service reporting for efficiency gains.

esd-toolkit has been around to support Local Government for quite a while……. • 3 London Boroughs & Porism Ltd formed project group • A steering group set-up in Autumn 2000 • LAs across the country contributed best practice/guidance • esd-toolkit application live - July 2002 • Rapid take up & developments • LGOL funding 2004/05 and 2005/06
