Which sign is the Sun in? The Sun is in Taurus. And which sign is the Moon in? The Moon is in Scorpio.
What do we know about theFixed mode? fixed signs are concerned with maintaining something, changing things so they are the same as before Taurus wants to make the products of the self, sometimes material wealth, permanent and fixed.
What do we know about Earth? possessed and owned attainable organized and predictable
What else about Earth? cautious, premeditative, conventional and dependable builders
So what happens when we put the mode of fixed together with the element of earth?
We get Taurus! • Taurus is the 2nd sign of the zodiac. • Taurus represents the second stage in the evolution of man and his place in the universe. The first thing man uses are his physical senses. What he can see, touch, and physically hold represents the reality of his position. It is why the celestial heritage of Taureans is to conserve physical resources and possessively cling to people whom they regard as their own.
Taureans are stubborn and impervious to changes not of their own making.
Taureans react to what they experience by assessing its possible worth.
Taurus’ Astrological Symbol For centuries, the bull has been a symbol of strength, tenacity, virility, and power. Left alone, a bull will happily graze; but if it is bothered, it will charge! Similarly, the Taurus personality is thought to be calm and peaceful, but when their anger is aroused, their temper can be wicked. Taureans are often quite disturbed by sudden changes--they prefer their lives stable and secure.

The Taurus Myth Mythology abounds with motifs about bulls of one sort or another. For about two thousand years the bull, the symbol of Taurus, was one of the main religious symbols for the Taurean Age - which occurred roughly between 4000 and 2000 B.C. In pagan religion of this time, the bull and the cow were symbols of the fertility of the earth. As with Aries we will discuss two myths regarding Taurus.

Taurus and Ray 4 are interesting archetypal forces. While Taurus lures us into stability, we actually end up in duality (at first). And while Ray 4 is about the art of living, it really provides us with a tremendous amount of tension, chaos, and discomfort along the way. Why is this? Life has a way of wanting to constantly evolve. Taurus - Ray 4 The questions that Ray 4 and Taurus are really asking us, after we've experienced the duality, are: What represents constructive living? What are the means by which a group, a town, a city, a nation, or a world achieves harmonious and constructive living? What instruments need to be forged to achieve this? And what types of people, thought processes, and belief systems will foster a life in which work is not separated from daily living—where freedom, creativity, and cooperation are the primary focus of life and the group is enhanced by the gifts of each individual?
Each sign represents a different aspect of man’s development. This is the story of the individual Christ, crucified upon the cross of matter, and incarnated in each human being, God, incarnate in matter. The Labours of Hercules The Labours of Hercules was written in 1936 by Alice Bailey wherein Hercules needs to complete 12 tasks – one in each sign.
The Labour in Taurus Alone and still filled with deep distress, Hercules must rescue a sacred bull from its intended sacrifice to Minos, King of Crete and deliver it to the mainland where dwell the one-eyed men. The Capture of the Cretan Bull - Which is very much like the Theseus and the Minotaur we discussed.
Hercules completes his task On the island, where the bull is captive, is a vast maze, which can lure the adventurous to their bewilderment. Here, following the gleaming star shining from its forehead, Hercules pursues the bull from place to place. Single-handed, he captures it and rides it like a horse through the waters to the mainland, surrounded by the seven Sisters. He leads it to the Holy Place and delivers it safely to its chief guardians, three one-eyed Cyclops.
Interpretation of the myth This second labour deals with the potent world of desire and leads the disciple to an understanding of the great Law of Attraction. The lesson concerns the nature of desire and its transmutation into aspiration, the right use of sex and the law that governs that magnetic force. All these must be mastered for the disciple to control the bull of desire sufficiently enough to ride it across the waters of the emotional nature.
Interpretation of the myth Only when the soul is single in its purpose and free from the hold of matter will right action follow. When the disciple achieves this, the bull of desire is handed over to Cyclops, the initiate with the single eye, which is himself, the soul. Then begins the manifestation of the three divine aspects, spirit, soul and activity, represented by the three Cyclops of the myth. If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
Further Comments The upwardly horns of Taurus simulate a bowl in which many lights are hidden, a labyrinth of lights deep buried in the bowl. This garden of lights represents the many weak and feeble qualities of our selfish personality aspects. They must be transformed before the “One eye” can project its light. The “one” or “third” eye is a symbol of the Ajna-center in the aetheric body situated in the region between the physical eyebrows. Through the illumination which originates in the heart ‘all is enlightened when the third eye is opened’.
Group implications Today, the goal is attained through group effort and Alice Bailey writes of a new, subjectively linked group of servers who work within the influence of Taurus: “The group, therefore, which ‘serves as Aquarius indicates’ is the spiritual Hierarchy; the group which is ‘speeded upon the upward Way’ is the New Group of World Servers. This group is ruled by Taurus, and to it that divine Taurian energy brings ‘illumination and the attainment of the vision’. This group is, figuratively speaking, the ‘bull, rushing forward upon a straight line with its one eye fixed upon the goal and beaming light’. That goal is not the goal of Self-illumination, for that lies far behind; it is the goal of providing a centre of light within the world of men and of holding up the vision to the sons of men.”

Why are we here tonight? The time of the full moon there is a direct alignment between the energy of the sign the sun is in and the affairs of the sign the moon is in. Sun – Taurus – raising of desire Moon – Scorpio – adds fuel to testing fires In our meditation this evening, let us visualize a common goal for humanity. Groups of men and women of goodwill bonding together to support right-human values. Let us use our magical powers of manifestation, and see this happen. Leaders and ordinary people alike, afire with goodwill and humanitarian vision, acting in concert for the good of mankind as a whole.
