Reflexive Verbs Verbs that have Reflexive Pronouns : Me Nos Te Os Se Se They are called reflexive because the person that is doing the action is also receiving the action
How are they conjugated: Reflexive pronouns must be placed in front of the conjugated verb OrAttached to a non conjugated verb (infinite) Both the reflexive verb and pronoun must agree to the noun.
Examples: Yo (peinarse) = me peino Tú (dormirse) = te duermes Ellos (ponerse) = se ponen Nosotros (irse) = nos vamos
Presente del Progresivo • When you want to say that an action is happening now, use the present progressive. • To form this tense, use: • The present tense of estar & present participle. • To form the present participle of a verb, drop the ending infinitive and add –ANDO (-ar ending verbs) or –IENDO (-er, -ir ending verbs). Example: I am talking: Estoy hablando You are writing: Estás escribiendo
3 vowel Rule: • When the stem of an –er or –ir verb ends in a vowel, change the –iendo to yendo • Examples: • Leer – leiendo leyendo • Oír – oiendo oyendo • Creer – creiendo creyendo
Stem Changing Verbs Remember that some verbs change in the stem. For the ING form ONLY –IR stem changing verbs have a stem vowel change Dormir - Durmiendo Morir – Muriendo Pedir - Pidiendo Competir – Compitiendo Preferir – Prefiriendo Servir- Sirviendo
