  7. 柯伊伯帶 (Kuiper belt) 歐特雲 (Oort cloud) 彗星的故鄉 • 在海王星軌道之外，距離太陽約數十～數百個天文單位。 • 所有彗星在「柯伊伯帶」呈現帶狀的空間分佈。 • 在這裡，200年內回歸太陽附近一次的稱為短週期彗星。

  8. 歐特雲 (Oort cloud) 柯伊伯帶 (Kuiper belt) 彗星的故鄉 • 來自太陽系最邊緣的地帶，距離太陽約三萬至數十萬天文單位的廣闊球殼區域。 • 所有彗星在「歐特雲」呈現球狀的空間分佈。 • 在此區，通常彗星上千年以上才回歸太陽附近一次，稱為長週期彗星。
