  3. Read! Learn! Grow! Shaving Cream Fun Color Magic Puppets Side by Side Books Play Dough Play Dress Up Sing Along Books with Beat Sensory Box Ants on a Log

Shaving Cream Fun! • Shake up the shaving cream can, then squirt out a generous mound onto the table. • Encourage your child to "finger paint", write, draw and create with this mixture. • Get your child to talk about what he or she is experiencing and you will not only promote language development, but help your child integrate different parts of the brain! Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  5. Color Magic Encourage your child to use the color magic makers and paper to practice writing the letters in their name, drawing a story or even just doodling. Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  6. Puppets! • Select a book to read together. • Encourage your child to retell the story using puppets. • Read the story a second time with the puppets! Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  7. Side by Side Books • Pick a book to read with your child. • Refer to the label in the front of the book for an activity and questions to talk about. • Use the supplies to complete one of the activities in the book. Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  8. Play Dough! • Squish, Mush and Shape the dough into anything! • Encourage your child to talk about what they are making and to make more and expand! Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  9. Play Dress Up! • Encourage your child to put on a community helper outfit • Encourage them to pretend they are the community helper. • Read a story about the community helper they dressed up as. Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  10. Sing Along! • Press Play on the IPOD. • Sing, Dance and be silly with the music! Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  11. Books with Beat! Pick a book to read together, sing the words, play the instruments and feel the beat! Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  12. Sensory Box • Place an object in the box without your child seeing the object. • Encourage your child to put their hand in the box and use words to describewhat they are feeling. • Tell them synonyms for those sensory words. Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.

  13. Ants on a Log • Fill the center of the celery stick with peanut butter or cream cheese. • Place a few raisins or chocolate chips on top to be ants. • Eat and enjoy! • Talk to your child about each step and ask them to tell you what they are doing in their own words. Help your child learn new words with simple activities every day.
