  2. 1. The Bible and fearing God Over 100 references. It is how God’s people are to live – Dt.10:12,13 a. It is wise – Pr.1:7 b. It drives away other fears – Lk.12:4-7 c. It is the way of life & hope – 2Sam.23:2-4; Ps.147:11 It describes the early church – Acts 9:31

  3. 2. What does fearing God look like? a. Recognising who God is - The Sovereign & Majestic King – Ez.1:26-28; Dan.10;Rev.1;Job 40:4,5; 42:1-6 - The Holy One – Is.6:1-5 We are humbled, filled with awe, wonder & amazement. We don’t take our relationship for granted.

  4. b. Taking God & His Word seriously - Examples of not doing that 1. Unacceptable worship – Lev.10:1-3 2. Ignoring his instructions – 1Chron.13:5-12 cf. Gen.3; Acts 5 - Examples of obeying God’s word – 1.Acceptable worship - Lev.9:22-24; Heb.12:28,29 2. Obedient & joyful worship – 1Chron.15:11-15,25-28
