Sometimes businesses don’t always behave ethically For example: • Supplying a second-hand bicycle that had faulty brakes and refusing to replace it • Not telling you that a computer did not come with all the games that appear in the advertisement • Selling toys that don’t comply with safety regulations • Refusing to exchange a jumper that didn’t match a skirt you had at home when they had agreed to do so at the time of the purchase (if you had not discussed this possibility with the shopkeeper at the time he/she would be within their rights not to exchange it) Resource 2G – The Responsible Consumer and Avoiding Conflict (KS4) Slide 1 of 7 Hampshire County Council – Consumer Education Project within the Citizenship Curriculum
