Land continued…. • Natural resources • Petroleum • Copper • Asbestos • Limestone Gulf of Oman • Chromium • Gypsum • Marble Some of the water systems important to Oman are the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman. • Over all, the country comprises of a narrow coastal plain backed by hill ranges and an interior desert plateau

Climate and Vegetation • Climate-Hot, dry desert, humid along coast • Wild life-ban hunting for some animals are endangered, such as the Arabian leopard and the Arabian Oryx • Vegetation- five different vegetation types of the dominant species: • The Sideroxylon mascatense–Dodonaea viscosa -on grazed • Olea europaea–Fingerhuthia africana -on ungrazed plateau sites at 2 000 m • The Ziziphus spina-cristi–Nerium oleander - on wadi sites • The Moringa peregrina–Pteropyrum scoparium group at 1 200 m • The Acacia gerrardii–Leucas inflata group at 1 700 m
