Unit 2: Technology for Teaching and Learning • We are shifting the focus from “why” to “how”. • Primary focus of Unit 2 is: • HOW do teachers implement technology into classroom? • HOW do teachers make the best use of the technologies we have access to? • HOW do we teachers evaluate the best use of the technologies?

  9. THE 3E’s Is one criteria we use in W200 How to use the 3 E’s.. • Define the learning objective, • Define the task, • Select a tool to support the task (use 3 e’s)

  10. WHAT ARE THE 3 E’s? • EFFECTIVENESS • Meet the learning goals successfully (Standards) • EFFICIENCY • Save time, effort, and cost (Resources) • Should be coupled with effectiveness • ENHANCEMENT • Offer Engaging learning experience (Digital Natives) • Enrich learning environments

HANDS ON ACTIVITY #4 STEPS: • Get into groups of 3-4 (Each group receives an iPad) • Select a group facilitator • Find one tool on the iPad for your subject area which best exemplifies one of the Es: Efficiency, Effectiveness, or Enhancement • Present your discoveries to the rest of the class.

No installation needed. • Where to checkout equipment: • Library http://www.libraries.iub.edu/index.php?pageId=3757 • TTL (Equipment Rental Form) • Release form from Guardians/Parents for participants under 18 and any other participants in your digital story.
