Data Security Breaches • “..Data breaches cost US organizations at least $45 billion annually..” -Keith Schwartz • In a six-month period -12,500 mobile devices - 4,500 USB memory sticks were lost/forgotten in public places • Average per-incident cost in 2009 - $6.75 million - $204 per customer

Losses include: Client information, company data, customer trust, penalties/fines, etc. • Depending on the regimen and industry, information must generally be retained for a long time and be safe from tampering. • Targeted enterprises/industries: - financial services - government - military - healthcare - professionals - some small businesses

Imation’s Solution • Defender Collection launched May 3rd (Monday) Hard drives, flash drives, optical media, and removable tape cartridges with: -FIPS140 certification -security management tools -encryption -biometric authentication plus optional Defender Software Suite • Also includes/builds on “rf tracking system” • Partner contribution from: MXI Security – encryption, BlueFly Processor encryptX – AES 256bit encryption and burning tech
