  3. Why this presentation? • To know the complications of circumcision. • To know the cause of post circumcisional bleeding. • To become familiar with the management of post circumcisional bleeding. • To acknowledge its prevention.

  4. Circumcision is the world's oldest planned surgical procedure, suggested by anatomist and hyperdiffusionist historian Grafton Elliot Smith to be over 15,000 years old.

  5. Why this circumcission? 1) Religious reasons

  6. Medical conditions , like, Phimosis Paraphimosis Besides, Recurrent balanitis, Posthitis and balanoposthitis, Carcinoma confined to prepucial region.

  7. Relative Contraindication: Active infective conditions; Bleeding disorders like, Haemophilia, Thrombocytopenia; Absolute Contraindication: Hypospadias Epispadias

  8. Methods Of Circumcision: Guillotine Method Dissection / Sleeve method guillotine method

  9. Complications: Immediate: Bleeding Injury to glans or urethra Too much or too little exicision. Extensive sloughing Psychological trauma Late: Meatalstenosis Painful erection Cosmetically unacceptable scar

  10. Post circumcisional bleeding: Bleeding is the most commonly encountered complication of circumcision. it occurs in less than 1% procedure.

  11. Management: There might be a small amount of blood in his diaper at the first change after circumcision but there should be nothing more than perhaps a few small spots subsequently.
