Greetings, Skyhawks! I'm Mrs. Cassie Fernandez, your 8th-grade U.S. History teacher. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, I graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville. With four years of experience at Hobby Middle School and a Master’s degree in Administration, I’m excited to guide you through an engaging history journey. My classroom culture emphasizes respect, responsibility, and positivity, and I encourage strong participation through our Interactive Binders. Let’s strive for success together while having fun learning about our country's past!

  3. Teacher’s Background • Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas • Jackson M.S. and Lee H.S. • Graduated from Texas A&M Kingsville • Married for 8 years • Taught at Hobby for 4 years, Garcia for 1 year • I received my Masters degree in Administration • Social Studies coordinator

  12. Interactive Binders • Interactive Binders are 2 inch binders used to consolidate all of your daily assignments, journals, quizzes, and prompts. • You will receive grades from your binder • You don’t have your binder, you don’t get a grade. • You must bring your binder to class everyday

  13. B.A.F.? • Binders- first thing you do when you come into class is get your Interactive Notebook • Agenda- always write down your agenda • Focus- Begin working on focus or wait for the teacher to give you instructions for the focus.

  14. Remember! • Be seated and ready to work by the bell • Throw your trash before and after class

  15. Remember! • Ask permission before getting out of your seat • Check for your absent work

  16. What are LT’s? • LT= Little Tickets • They act as money in my classroom • Earn Privileges • Suggestions for privileges

  17. Teacher’s Assistant(TA) • I will be accepting applications for Teacher’s Assistants this week. • I choose a different assistant every month • Some responsibilities include • Attendance • LT giver • Grading • Running errands
