Adjetivos: Número • Adjectives must also agree in NUMBER. • For example, if you are describing two people, you must make the adjective plural. • To make an adjective plural all you do is add an “s” if it ends in a vowel. • Ellas son altas. • Because “Ellas” implies two girls, “altas” must be both feminine and plural.

  4. Práctica • Write the correct form of the adjective. REMEMEBER IT MUST AGREE IN BOTH GENDER/NUMBER. • 1. Ivan es ________(gracioso). • 2. Susana y Ivan son ______(inteligente). • 3. Mario y Luigi son _____(feo). • 4. Isabel y Clara son ______(bonito). • 5. Maria y Marcos son ______(guapo).

  5. Adjetivos: Número • What happens if you are describing both a boy and a girl? • The adjective is masculine even though a girl is included. • Heather y Sam son serios. • What happens if the adjective ends in a consonant? • You add “es” instead of just an “s”. • Ellos son trabajadores.

  6. What is “son”? • Did you notice when we are describing two people we aren’t using “es” any more? • Well we don’t want to say “They is pretty”!! • Remember “ser”? • If you want to say “are” now, we have to use “son”. • Ellas son bonitas. • They are pretty.
