  3. His work/ mathematical discoveries In 1796, he was able to show a 17-slided polygon could be constructed as a compass and straightedge. He had done some mistakes and fixed them but at the same time he learned the method of a square. A regular heptadecagon was one of his inventions he was so pleaded of what he invented. Gauss loved working with numbers and also because it led to discovery.

  4. his middle years • Gauss was a hard worker, everything he did he proved it that it was right. • Gauss also made important contributions with his 1801 book. • Gauss also claimed to have discovered the possibility of non- Euclidean geometries but never published it, this was a major discovery in math. • In 1807, he was appointed to professor astronomy and director of the astronomical observation in Gottingen and held a post that remained his life. • Janos bolyai thought that gauss had stolen his idea but it was now taken as a place value.

  5. HIs latest years / work • In 1831, Johann Gauss developed a fruitful collaboration with the physics director leading to new knowledge in magnetism and the discovery of circuit laws in electricity. • His religion was based upon the truth, he believed the immortality of the spiritual individual after a death in order of things,in an eternal, omniscientandomnipotentGod. • When his first wife died he got married again with a woman named Frederica she was Johanna's best friend (the 1st wife). • Johann had 6 sons with his first wife Johanna. • One of Johann sons had a great talent but he died after his mother.
