  1. In a simple form, cementing plugs are rubber plugs – used to separate cement slurry from different materials like fluids that are often mixed.

  2. There are different other uses of such cementing plug too like reducing contamination and maintaining predictable slurry performance. They are divided into two categories that include bottom cementing plug and top cementing plug.
