Postsecondary Educational Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.) • All students scoring Level 2 & 3 in FCAT 2.0 reading and Levels 2,3,4 in FCAT 2.0 mathematics or Levels 2,3,4 Algebra 1 EOC will be tested. • The purpose is determine a student’s readiness to perform college-level work. • Students shall be tested for reading, writing, and mathematics proficiency prior to the completion of initial registration for college. (11th grade) • Developmental education courses are required when a student does not meet the college ready cut scores. Students earning scores less than those listed below shall be enrolled in developmental education communication and computation instruction in the area of deficiency. • Reading 104 (106) • Writing 99 (103) • Mathematics 113 (114) • Students who meet or exceed the following scores and enroll in a Florida institution within 2 years are exempted from taking the P.E.R.T. • SAT Verbal 440 Mathematics 440 • ACT Reading 18 (19) English 17 Mathematics 19

6.4043 Forgiveness • A student who has received a grade of “D” (“C” for high school courses taken in middle school) or less may repeat a course to improve their grade point average subject to the following: • A. The original course and grade will remain on the student’s record. • B. The grade may be replaced by a grade of “C” or higher. • C. A student who received a “D” or “F” in any semester unit of instruction of a course may repeat the semester unit in summer session or in a regular term. The semester unit repeated may be from the original course, or a comparable course. • D. Students entering 9th grade in school year 2000-01 shall have all courses, except those courses which have been forgiven by the District’s forgiveness policy, used in calculation of their G.P.A. • A student attending a virtual remediation program or summer session to replace a previously earned grade (course recovery) need only to attend for the time that it takes to master the Student Performance Standards (Learning Pathway) and demonstrate proficiency (pass) the final post-assessment.
6.4076 Participation in Graduation Ceremony • A. Meets all the graduation requirements (minimum) as stipulated in Section 6.401 0f the S.P.P.: or • B. Meets the requirements for the other diplomas (Special) found in the S.P.P. (6.4071, and 6.4073); or • C. Meets A or B above except for passing FCAT scores; or • D. Is no more than two (2) credits from completing all requirements; including GPA as stipulated in Section 6.401 of the S.P.P.
