  2. During Valentines Day, Grocers Become Florists

  3. Huge Promotional Support, but it’s Holiday driven. Because Valentines Day fell early in the week, we see promotions spanning over two weeks. If it weren’t for splitting the promotions over two periods, we would see Valentines day out performing Mother’s Day.

  4. Roses, Steak, Lobster & Wine There are many commonly advertised products throughout the Grocery channel of trade around the Valentine’s Day holiday.

  5. Attention All Romeos! It’s not everyday we find humor in circular advertising. 99 Cents Only Stores offers advice to all the Romeos. Condoms are both a GOOD CHOICE and a BAD CHOICE

  6. What’s the Cost of a Rose? Retailers promote roses at a wide variety of price points.

  7. Women’s Intimate Apparel While there is little change in the quantity or the quality of promotions in this category…retailers themed their promotions as Valentine’s Day.

  8. Even Facebook Gets Involved…indirectly CVS promoted their card-making service using Facebook photos

  9. Targeting Children Many retailers target kids plush and cards.

  10. BOGO’s on Fragrance? Most Drug Stores offer B1G1F or B1G1 50% off on fragrances. It’s an interesting promotion to run considering that a person is likely to only buy one fragrance for one other person on Valentines Day. It’s also worth noting that only Drug Stores are promoting this way.

  11. Pricing Summary A wide range of pricing can be found on the various products promoted during Valentine’s Day.
