  9. Home (Shelter) Factors in your house Who lives with you? What foods are in your kitchen? What type of Gym/Exercise equipment do you have? What type of neighborhood do you reside in? How many TV’s are in the house How is the air quality and ventilation in your house?

  10. School • Transportation? • How long are you inside/outside? • Is their healthy food in the cafeteria? • Are there vending machines? • Are there activities to help the environment? (recycling, building a garden, etc) • What groups that you can you help? IF YOU WANT MORE CHOICES • Tell your parents, PTA, school, friends!

  12. Restaurant/Malls • How often do you visit the local mall? • Do you sit down at restaurants or is it primarily fast food? • What are your choices for shopping? • How far is the mall from your house? • What type of activities do you do there? • Have you heard of a mall walkers program?

  13. Doctor/Hospitals • Where is the nearest hospital? • What type of educational programs do they have there? • If there a nurse at your school? Do you know his/her name? • What type of doctors do you visit? (Dentists, Pediatricians, Allergists, etc.)

Food • Where do you eat most of your meals? • Do you eat on the run or sitting down? • Name the 10 top things you consume/eat? • Do you know the food pyramid? • Are you at risk for certain hereditary issues? • Do you have any dietary restrictions ? • Family or cultural influencers with food? • Do you read labels?

  18. Water Facts Water is most of your body! Water can clean out and flush your body of germs. Water can give your skin the moisture it needs to keep you healthy and glowing! Water can help your stomach digest your food and help with wastes! Water is the way that nutrients get to all parts of your body and is needed for your blood to circulate (All About Water, 2009)

Taking ownership • Plant a garden—freshest foods • Order online peapod (peapod.com) • Ask local grocery stores to carry products • Visit websites about the environment, health and other issues about you • Walk, rollerblade, play outside • Know the habits you form today will carry on for the rest of your life..

  20. Ownership • You have so many choices that effect your self image, your energy level and your physique. • Your choices, your body, you own it! Don’t play the blame game.
