  2. Engineering Developmental Assistance Program (EDAP) Background There is a continuing need to develop highly qualified engineers to perform many specialized functions within FRC East. The EDAP is work-study program that offers qualified students the opportunity to gain work experience related to their college major and their career objectives, while serving as a resource for the Command to develop highly motivated employees. Selectees will be placed in engineering technician (student trainee) positions and will receive professional work assignments and experience while pursuing a four year engineering degree at a local college or university. Tuition assistance may be available to students selected into EDAP. • Qualifications • To be eligible to compete for EDAP, candidates must be enrolled in a four year professional engineering curriculum and demonstrate the ability to succeed as evidenced by completion of at least one semester/term of: • calculus, • chemistry, • physics, and • Intro to Engineering • * Courses must be applicable to the main engineering degree program with grades of “C” or better. How to Apply 1. An EDAP announcement will be disseminated to academia. 2. Applicants will submit a complete resume and all college-level transcripts, they will complete an assessment questionnaire, they will view an occupational questionnaire, they will submit any Veterans’ Preference documents and apply to a USA Jobs announcement number on www.usajobs.gov in order to be considered.
