All About Me • Grew up in Kansas • Currently reside in Vernon Hills • Two children Meghan-28, Brett-24, one Grandchild Maci 21 months • Attended University of St. Francis and various other colleges for graduate credit • Taught in Plainfield for 13 years • Seventh year at Wilmot • Big sports fan (KU especially, lover of chocolate and reading for pleasure

  3. Website • To get to my website please go to the DPS109 website and click on Wilmot • Then click on Staff Email and Web pages • Scroll down and find my name and click on website • You will find homework, useful links, documents and other helpful hints there.

  4. Classroom Routines • A morning message will be on the board every morning to tell the students what to do when they enter the room. • The students should have their assignment books signed each night by a parent. • Homework goes in homework tray and parent notes in other tray

  5. Homework • Assignment Notebooks—all daily work is written down—a checkmark means it is completed—circled means it is homework. • Parent signature is strongly encouraged. • Most homework will be work that students are unable to complete in class. • Unless stated in notebook all work is due the following day. • Students who do not complete work on time will have an extra day but will lose homework chart sticker and will get written in Oops book. After 3 late assignments a note will be sent home for signature

  6. Absent Work • If your child is going to be absent please notify the office. • If you would like work to be sent home please notify me via email or message and if you will be picking it up in the office or want it sent home with another child.

  7. Graded Work Folders • All graded work will be returned in a folder along with a reflection sheet. • I will initial or make comments. • A parent signature or comment is expected. • Return empty folders the following day.

  8. Birthdays Your child is welcome to donate a birthday book or board game to celebrate his/her special day!! Please do not send in snacks due to various allergies in the school and classroom.

  9. Special Schedule Monday PE: 9:30-10:10 LMC: 1:10-1:40 Spanish: 1:40-2:10 (every other week) Tuesday Art: 8:50-9:30 Wednesday PE: 8:50-9:30 Music: 9:30-10:10 Spanish: 1:10-1:40 Thursday Art: 8:50-9:30 Friday Music: 8:50-9:30 DARE/Second Steps/Cybersafety 9:30-10:10 Spanish: 1:10-1:40 Recess will be Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 1:55-2:10.

  10. Classroom Rules We will: • Respect your classmates and class property • Treat people the way you want to be treated • Listen when others are speaking and raise your hand when you want to speak • Think before you act • Keep your property clean and organized and use it quietly

  11. Consequences • Conference with student and Ms. Kinley • Phone call home • Conference with Mrs. Brett • Conference with Mrs. Brett, the student, myself, and any other party involved to resolve issue

  12. Snack Break • Your child is welcome to bring a snack to school but please encourage only healthy ones!!

  13. Wilmot Visitor Policy • Please park in only the designated areas. • Make sure to sign in at the office.

  14. Parent/Teacher Conferences Monday, November 19th Tuesday, November 20th Please sign up for a time before you leave tonight.
