Funding Request for Two New Greenhouses in Kabul City

The Kabul City Department of Greenery has submitted a request for funding to construct two new greenhouses similar to the existing solarium at King’s retreat center, now Kabul's horticulture farm. Currently, both permanent and temporary greenhouses are utilized for wintering geraniums and producing flowers, shrubs, and trees at Paghman farm to beautify the city. An assessment was conducted on November 19, 2012, and a letter was sent to the Directorate General of Greenery asking for further details to justify this funding request.

UNCLASSIFIED Kabul City Requests Two Greenhouses • Assessment 19NOV12 • Dept. of Greenery requests funding -5NOV12 • Inspected two current city greenhouses. • Permanent existing greenhouse is holdover solarium on King’s 200-acre retreat center which is now Kabul City’s horticulture farm. • Both permanent and temporary plastic greenhouses are full of geraniums being overwintered. • Greenery Department produces on Paghman farm: flowers, shrubs and trees to beautify Kabul. • Request is for two new greenhouses like the solarium. • Taking Action • Responded to DG Greenery with letter asking for details to justify request -19NOV12 Agriculture - Kabul 19-NOV-12
