  2. Writing Nugget #1 Guidelines Refer to Notes #5 (Written Responses to Literature) and any other notes Correct punctuation, spelling, and sentence structures Include at least 1 figure of speech (S, M, O, A, P, H) Include at least 3 elevated words

  3. Writing Nugget #1 - “Adolescence” “It is adolescence that defines who we are going to be. That’s the time when we choose paths for ourselves that are going to shade and define the rest of our lives.” ~Neal Shusterman

  4. Writing Nugget #2 Guidelines • Refer to notes #2 - #7• Include at least 2 Figures of speech• include at least 4 elevated words• Use correct grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation• Must be at least 5 sentences• must be in paragraph form• write with feeling!

  5. Write about something that has special meaning to you because it reminds you of a person, place, thing, or time you like to remember. Writing nugget #2 – “Something special”

Writing Nugget #3 - “Fear” “In time we hate that which we often fear” ~William Shakespeare Even today, his plays are performed more often than any other playwright He is one of few writers whose work has been loved at the time it was written and still be loved continually even today ½ of the audience who would watch his plays in the Globe theatre couldn’t read, so Shakespeare knew how to write for the masses Did you know that of the 17,677 words that Shakespeare uses in his plays, sonnets, and narrative poems, his is the first use of over 1,700 of them?

Writing Nugget #4 Guidelines • Refer to notes #2 - #9• Include at least 3Figures of speech for Blake and 3 for Quinn• include at least 5elevated words per character• Use correct grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation• Must be at least 5sentences per paragraph• must be in paragraph form (Indent, topic sentence, etc)

  9. Write a descriptive paragraph about Blake and explain if he is a reliable narrator. Then, write a descriptive paragraph about Quinn and explain his relationship with Blake. Writing nugget #4 – “Brothers”
