Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APSET)

The APSET stands for Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission whose main purpose is to recruit Assistant Professors and lectures. The candidate must have or at least hold a graduate degree with more 55% scored from a recognized university. There is no upper age limit for the candidates. The APSET has provides total of eight exam centers which can be selected by students as per choice. While applying for the exam candidate must need to fulfill all the details as per APSET rules otherwise application should be rejected and all the application process done in an online mode.

  2. Introduction The Andhra Pradesh University conducts its eligibility test for various subjects every year. We often refer to it as the APSET. The main motive of the APSET exam is to recruit Assistant Professors and Lecturers. APSET is the short-term for Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test. Furthermore, the APSET recruits candidates in various degree colleges and Andhra Universities. APSET Eligibility Criteria Nationality •Firstly, any aspirant willing to become an APSETmust be a citizen of India •Secondly, any person of Indian origin or a subject of Nepal and Bhutan or a refugee from Tibet is also eligible. However, they should have settled in India before 1962. •Moreover, any person from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Burma, Zaire, Ethiopia, etc., who are of Indian origin are also eligible. However, the condition is that they should intent to settle permanently in India after their migration. Qualification Any candidate with a master’s degree can apply for this post. The only requirement is that they must have scored more than 55% marks from a recognized university. Also, candidates from any category like SC/ST/OBC are also eligible for this post. Apart from there transgenders can also apply. Moreover, candidates with any disability (PwD) are also eligible and can apply for this post. These candidates from the PwD category must have scored 50% in their master’s degree. In the case of Ph.D. candidates, APSET gives them a relaxation of 5% marks. Besides, APSET also gives the same relaxation to transgender candidates. This relaxation also applies to marks scored in any exam. This relaxation is also available for transgender candidates of SC/ST/ PwD categories. Age APSET has set no upper age limit for candidates to become eligible for the post of Assistant Professors.

  4. APSET Syllabus APSET Syllabus for Paper-I: •This paper is named General Paper in teaching and research aptitude. It consists of 10 units/chapters. Candidates must prepare all of these. •Moreover, this subject access the candidates teaching capabilities of these future Assistant Professors and Lecturers. •Not only this, but this subject also tries to detect the research abilities of these candidates. •Also, the candidates must exhibit all of their cognitive and comprehension abilities. •Lastly, the chapters include communication, comprehension, data interpretation; higher education system; information and communication technology (ICT); logical reasoning; mathematical reasoning and aptitude; people development and environment; research aptitude, and teaching aptitude.   6. APSET Result APSET has set selection criteria for the candidates appearing in their exams. The points below will make it understand how this process works. •Firstly, out of all the appearing candidates, only 6% of them will qualify APSET exam. Therefore, only this percentage of candidates are eligible for the positions of Lecturers and Assistant Professors. •Secondly, out of this 6% of candidates, their distribution will take place. In simple words, this 6% of qualified candidates include all the candidates from every category like general, SC, or ST. The distribution is as follows; BC-A (7%), BC-B(10%), BC-C (1%), BC-D (7%), BC-E (4%), SC (15%) and ST (6%). •Moreover, APSET secures 10% of additional sanctioned seats for some candidates. This percentage is set aside only for EwS candidates. •APSET also reserves some seats for women and PwD candidates. The percentage in each category is 33% and 3% respectively. •Furthermore, the calculation of slots is based on the number of appearing candidates in the APSET exam. Moreover, it also depends on their minimum aggregate marks.
