  1. DIABETES Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the level of sugar in the blood increases. The condition occurs when the body is unable to produce enough insulin or the cells are unable to use it to metabolize sugar. Type 1 Type 2 The condition is characterized by improper functioning of pancreas to produce insulin, which is needed by the cells to utilize sugar. This may lead to abnormal increase in blood sugar level. In this condition, the insulin produced in the body is not properly utilized by the cells and is unable to turn sugar into energy, leading to higher level of blood sugar.
