  1. United Priority Boarding: Is it Worth the Extra Charge? United Airlines has recently added priority boarding to its airline services with little change on the price of the regular tickets. However, according to United Airlines, buying United priority boarding allows lower boarding to get priority bag space on the overhead bins as long as it becomes full on time by groups 3 to 5 on the plane. Also, many critics say that it is a kind of marketing strategy to charge extra to commuters for having more service. What do you think about this? Do you think United’s priority boarding is worth the charge? Why United Airlines created this program A little over a year ago, United Airlines created a priority boarding program for their passengers. It is meant to offer convenience and make the experience more enjoyable for those who are willing to pay extra. The program has three different boarding groups and five different time periods. For example, Group 1 allows travelers to board before anyone else. They can also bring on one carry-on bag and have access to overhead bin space as long as it becomes full by Groups 3-5 on the plane. Who should buy priority boarding? If you are one of those people who like to fly with a lot of luggage, you will want to purchase priority boarding as United Airlines offers lower boarding for these travelers. While this is a good deal for some, others may not feel it's worth the extra charge. There are also those who point out that United wants to create an illusion of value when in reality, they are just charging more for what was once free. Who shouldn't buy priority boarding? No one should buy priority boarding on United Airlines. It is more expensive than buying a normal ticket and you do not get anything special for that price. There is no guarantee that you will get a seat in the front of the plane, and there are still high chances that your carry-on bag will not make its

  2. way to an overhead compartment. If you would like to purchase priority boarding from United Airlines, be sure to purchase United Priority Boarding Group 3 or 4 tickets. Priority Boarding Group 5 only guarantees that you will have space for your bag under the seat in front of you. About the cost The cost of priority boarding on United Airlines is $15.00, which is a higher price than most airlines charge for priority boarding. The only exception to this is if you are booking through the United app, in which case you will not be charged for priority boarding at all. Boarding groups on United Airlines are A1-5, with A1 being last and 5 being first. According to their website, Boarding Group 1 includes customers who have bought 'Economy Plus' or have elite status (Global Services, Premier 1K or Premier Platinum), board after those who have purchased Basic Economy fares. If you don't have any of these perks and still want to buy priority boarding, your best bet is Group 3 or 4 so that there's a chance you'll get an overhead bin before someone else does. Why airlines started charging additional fees In an effort to make more money, airlines started charging additional fees for services that were once free. Examples of these include baggage fees, checked baggage fees, and priority boarding. United Airlines allows lower boarding to get priority bag space on the overhead bins as long as it becomes full on time by groups 3 to 5 on the plane. However, many critics say that it is a kind of marketing strategy to charge extra to commuters for what was once a standard service from airlines. How early you need to arrive at airport If you want to get a seat in boarding group 1, you will need to arrive at the airport an hour and a half before your flight. If you are in groups 2-5, you will only need to arrive an hour before your flight. This is helpful for those who need to keep more of their time free. However, buying United priority boarding allows lower boarding to get priority bag space on the overhead bins as long as it becomes full on time by groups 3 to 5 on the plane. Also, many critics say that it is a kind of marketing strategy to charge extra to commuters for not much benefit since they would have boarded anyway according to their assigned boarding group after filling up the overhead bins. My Take on This Issue I think that priority boarding is worth the extra charge, however, I would only purchase it if I was traveling with a group of people. The United priority boarding group allows for lower boarding and priority bag space, which can be beneficial when flying with children or multiple suitcases. While these benefits may not be worth the price to some, they are valuable to those who travel frequently. My opinion on this matter is that the United group boarding is well worth the cost, as it provides an economical advantage while also providing convenience and peace of mind.
