  6. Writing Your Spiritual AutobiographySharing The Stories of Our Lives Modeled after “The Story of Your Life Writing Your Spiritual Autobiography” by Dan Wakefield. • Centered on the evolution of our spiritual beliefs at various times in your life. • Workshops and discussion meetings

  9. Small Group MinistriesAlso Known as Covenant Groups • Topic specific • Meet in homes • Group consists of up to10-12 members • Meet once or twice per month • Meetings last 1.5 to 2 hrs • Group formed for a finite amount of time • Typically 3-6 months

  10. Small Group Ministries (SGMs) • Meetings are structured, have guidelines for behavior and a leader/facilitator. Guidelines can be modified as necessary. • Usually the goal of SGMs is to build closer relationships between members of the group and to create a space for spiritual growth and/or healing. • Some groups, in addition to their normal meetings participate in an occasional social action program.

  11. Sample SGM Topics or Activity • Poetry – readings and discussion • Music lyric reading and discussion • Parents as spiritual guides • Social justice • Addiction and recovery • Readings & discussion on topics of mutual interest • GLBT perspectives and issues in the modern world

  12. Sample SGM Topics or Activity • Bible study – guidance and perspectives, values learned from biblical teachings • Circle of understanding – continuing the welcoming church discussion • From aging to sage-ing • Book reading and discussion • Movie and discussion
