  4. 1) Workplace standards of adidas-Performance-Passion-Integrity- -Diversity-

  5. Forced labour • business partners are not allowed to force anyone to work • this appoints to prisoners as well • no employee must be forced to work by violence or intimidation • forced labour must not be used as punishment for the meaning of people or their political views

  6. Child labour • business partners are not allowed to employ children under the age of 15 • anyone to whom appoints compalsary education must not be employed, also if he/she is 15 or older

  7. Discrimination • the adidas-group respects cultural differences • business partners must treat their employees by their abilities and not by their cultural origin • people of each culture, race, sex, age and religion shall have the same chance of being employed • especially migrant employees have to be protected

  8. Wages and benefits • business partners have to pay wages which are at least as high as the minimum wages that are defined by the government or that are normal in this branch of industry • the benefits defined by the government must be adduced • employees shall be able to afford a normal life and to save some money • business partners are asked to advance the living conditions of their employees

  9. Working hours • no more than 60 hours a week • at least one holiday (24 hours at a stretch) a week • payed holiday

Health and safety • business partners must provide a health and safe working place • provision is necessary in order to avoid accidents • employees must be protected from toxic chemicals, fire and accidents • enough and clean sanitary facilities must be available for each employee • safety and health policies have to be enacted and published

  11. What could be the reasons for these rules? • adidas does not cite reasons for the rules • they can be compared to some Christian values: • charity • treating everyone with dignity • one holiday a week • mercy • equality • protection of children

Sustainable products made by Adidas • In 2007 there was a new concept for a more sustainable production. • Official selling since 2008; collection is named „Adidas Green“. • Every product is environmental friendly redesigned. • Created as an answer to the growing need of sustainability. • The packaging of the products is 100% made of recycled papers.

  14. The three product categories of „Adidas Green“ • Reground made from natural materials like hemp, cork, recycled rice bowls. • Recycled produced with recycled or already used substance. • Made from classical products with interesting colours and made from eco - friendly stuff.

  15. The future of Adidas and sustainability • The realising of the process has been documented and is now available for other project groups. • The experience of „Adidas Green“ is also used in our other products.

  16. What does this all have to do with sustainability? • treating the employees in this way means not to create social problems in the future • producing environmentally friendly protects the earth and saves it for future generations who have the same right to be able to afford a good life and a profitable economy
