  2. A programmable thermostat allows you to set desired temperatures at various time throughout the day and night. The thermostat will automatically adjust the home to the preferred comfort levels at the appropriate time, without you having to adjust the setting manually, yourself. For instance, you may want to wake up to a warmer home first thing in the morning, have it slightly cooler during the day when everyone is away, arrive home to a warmer home, and then have it slight few degrees lower overnight.
