  3. 1 Review updates on standards implementation and assessments.

  4. 2 Become familiar with the shifts in Ohio’s social studies standards.

  5. 3 Understand how the shifts can impact student learning.

  6. 4 Receive an understanding of the social studies quality review rubric.

  7. Updates on Standards Implementation Districts should be fully aligned to the new standards for the 2014-2015 school year. ODE has transition tools and resources available in its website.

  8. Updates on Assessment The new generation of assessments will be implemented in the spring of 2015.

  9. Updates on Assessment End-of-year social studies tests will be given for grades four and six.

  10. Updates on Assessment End-of-course exams will be given in high school for American history and American government.

  13. Changes to standards and model curriculum are posted ODE revised and posted syllabi and model curriculum for the high school American History and American Government courses. ODE has also posted the revised model curricula for grades four and eight.
