  3. OBJECTIVE Di akhir kursus ini pelajar akan memahami kepentingan Pembangunan dan penggunaan sumber manusia di dalam mencapai matlamat organisasi, serta berupaya merancang aktiviti pembangunan sumber manusia dalam organisasi.

  4. SYNOPSIS • Pelajar akan memahami perkaitan fungsi sumber manusia, sebagai komponen organisasi yang utama, dengan pembangunan kakitangan yang berterusan dalam mencapai prestasi ekonomi organisasi yang superior; mengkaji aktiviti-aktiviti sumber manusia dalam organisasi seperti pemilihan pekerja, perancangan, latihan, penilaian; dan mengenal serta memahami strategi yang menyumbang kepada kejayaan organisasi, di samping memaksimumkan sumbangan individu.

  5. SYNOPSIS • Human Resource Development is a course about how an organization can use its most critical resource – people – to achieve its goals. The participant will gain an understanding of how the human resource function, as a primary organization component, links the continuing development of individual employees to the organization’s superior economic performance. HR activities, such as selection, planning, training, appraisal. Rewards, and other, are examined and strategies that contribute to organizational success, while maximizing the individual’s contribution, are studied.

  7. ASSINGMENT 1 (25%) Assigment 1 (25%) Summarize 10 research journal articles related to HRD. (one journal for one topic) • Diversity in Organization • Governance • Definition of HRD • Conflict in organizations • Human Capital Economics • Human Rights • Coaching • HRD ethics • Politics in organizations • Knowledge management -Due 2nd meeting

Assignment 2 (25%) CASE STUDY • Describe a problem handled by the HRD manager in a selected organization - describe what is the problem - explain the source of the problems - describe other factors related to the problem - list and describe people involve in the problem - explain the alternatives that can be used to solve the problem - explain the actual alternative used to solve the problem - describe the outcome • Describe your views about this whole situation • List and explain your recommendations in handling the problem • List and explain your learnings about HRD from this case study - Due 3rd meeting

  9. Assignment 3 (25%) Write a 10- 15 pages literature review on one of the following topics: 1. Corruption 2. 1 Malaysia 3. Work overload 4. e-government 5. Intelligence -Due 2 weeks before final exam

  11. EVALUATION CRITERIA • Organization (Susunan idea) • Content (Isi Kandungan) • Mechanics (Ketepatan pemilihan/penggunaan bahasa) • Clarity (Kejelasan idea) • References (Sumber Rujukan)

  12. FINAL EXAM Final Exam (25%) • Sit – in open book exam • Date (will be set by PPL) *Any changes will be discussed from time to time*
