It Benefits Students • Studies show that students who participate in athletics • have • Higher grade point averages • Better attendance • Lower dropout rates • Fewer disciplinary problems, • Higher graduation rates and better success in college • Athletic participation provides • Healthy, supervised after-school activities • Athletic participation teaches • Teamwork, • Goal setting • Discipline • Sportsmanship • Leadership, and other valuable life-skills, helping students to be contributing members of their school and community.

  4. The Ralston Track and Athletic Field needs to be a competitive facility. The time has come to address the future of this multi-use space and bring it up to standards that will make it an asset to the school and the community.

  5. Former Field and Track Status • Inadequate drainage leaves field rough and uneven. • Costly track repairs are no longer an option. • Patchwork repairs are only temporary. • Concrete pits are too close to the field. • Field is uneven • Stadium needs improved design for handicap accessibility

  6. The old track was in need of constant repair.

  7. The Pits were the “pits”!

  8. Deep fissures in the surface of the track made it necessary to do frequent and temporary repairs. Conditions didn’t allow RHS to host events.

Saturday Night Lights • April 16, 2005 • Where: Ralston High School • 5pm-8pm • Health Fair • Interactive sports carnival events with prizes. • “Taste of Ralston” featuring food from area restaurants • Big prize raffle and competitions • Silent and Live Auction • Sports Trivia Game Show with celebrity host • All proceeds benefit the Ralston Track and • Athletic Field Renovation Campaign
