  2. With the advancement of technology there has been a significant advancement in dam monitoring and maintenance applications as well. This has given rise to various different dam monitoring systems or softwares rather which are available in custom made format as well.

  3. Abutment Monitoring – The dam monitoring systems in order to prevent abnormalities in the dams and maintaining the needed condition carry out the process of monitoring the weaker points in the dam. This helps in checking the abnormal seismicity as well.

  4. Optimization of Water Level – Monitoring the water levels is another important task because incase the water level in the dam increases suddenly or even decreases all of a sudden then it is highly harmful to the rock mass elasticity of the structure. So, the elasticity has to be monitored as if it exceeds to a certain extent or above it, the results could be disastrous.
