  2. Procedure to Setup QuickBooks Migration Tool If you are trying to transfer your QuickBooks files and data from old to new computer, QuickBooks Migration Tool is very helpful for you. You can transfer upto three files to another computer. Step 1: Meet the System Requirements ● Your new computer has good internet connection. ● A USB flash drive with enough free space to store your company file. Maximum users need between 150 – 250 MB of free space.

Step 2: Set Up on the Old Computer ● Firstly, go to the File menu and choose the ‘Utilities’ option. ● After that, you have to choose the ‘Move QuickBooks to another computer’ option. ● Then, you need to go to the ‘I’m ready’ option and make a one-time password. ● Now, follow the instruction that are displaying on your screen to select the USB flash drive and wait for the files to be transferred.

The migrator tool will not open automatically, due to the Windows security restrictions. ● After that, open the flash drive to see files and press double-click to the file ‘Move_QuickBooks.bat’ to start the migrator. ● Now, enter the password that you created, and choose the ‘Let’s go’ option. ● It can take some time to finish.
