  1. At the Limerick Generating Station, PA State Police is a support Law Enforcement Agency for Limerick Township Police Department and Montgomery County CMERT.PA State Police SERT: Teams of tactical members, are assigned geographically. - PSP is primary law enforcement for 83% of the state - SERT is secondary duty - Exercise requires significant travel, overtime, and replacements - Funding remains a significant issue

  2. PA State Police – and therefore SERT – primary Law Enforcement Jurisdiction for the other 4 nuclear power plants in PA.Hostile Action Based Drills completed at 4 of the 5 plants with last site scheduled for May 09 Exercises, Exercises, Exercises

  3. If you desire maximum participation in these exercises, I would suggest that your plan include the funding necessary for agencies to play. Participants should not have to go out and solicit funding if this is YOUR drill and you want us to participate.

  4. Lessons Learned: Some communications issues – Equipment – maybe due to the artificiality of the drill itself. (In a real event, we would use our own radio equipment.)Maybe too much air traffic: “Everyone has to hear…NOT everyone has to talk.”

  5. IMPACT ON OUR DEPARTMENT: Several good things:Interaction with Exelon and their Security.Training with other tactical teams. Tactical members have need full access. Training IN the power block – never been done before. THIS WAS GREAT!

  6. Funding is an issue. As these guys are pulled from across half the Commonwealth, OT is necessary – both for them and their “replacements.”Funding from Regional Task Force. Without this, PSP probably couldn’t have played in the IPCE.
