Three strong statements • Joint degrees are the highest or the closest form of cooperation in HE • They can advance the HEA in quality and depth • They require a clear and decisive institutional support at all levels Based on the direct experience of Deusto University and indirectly of more than 50 partners

  3. The University of Deusto 115 years old Three Campuses: Bilbao, San Sebastian & Vitoria 9 Faculties: Business, Law, Engineering, Informatics & Telecommunications, Languages, History, Sociology, Psychology, Education, Humanities, Theology. Institutes and Schools

  4. In terms of Joint Degrees • Double BA in Business Administration • Agreed paths and curriculum • Last year final semester + 6 months in one partner university • Double MA in Business Administration • 2 years degree. Agreed curriculum • one year in Deusto, • one year in partner university

  5. Model one • Agreed curriculum • Period of extended studies to fulfill the requisites in both Universities/Countries • Double Degree

  6. Euroculture- Master of Arts • First semester home (core programme) • Intensive programme (all students) • Second semester abroad in partner university (options) • National Degree + Joint Diploma

Three strong statements • They require a clear and decisive institutional support at all levels • If most of these prerequisites are not present the partnership will not be able to cope • It is best when it is linked with the mission and vision of the university • When all these things are present it shows a high level of coherence and international visibility and becomes a focus for development
