  1. Bible Based Morality based on Acts 5:1-11

  2. Honesty - Our Neighbor • Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them. “ • Romans 12:17 “Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.”

  3. Honesty - Our Neighbor • 12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. • 13 Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. • 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. (Romans 13)

  4. Honesty - Our Neighbor • 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. • 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. • 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. (John 3)

  5. Honesty - The State • 1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. • 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. • 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. (2 Timothy 2)

  6. Honesty - The State • 17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not? • 18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites? • 19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny. • 20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? • 21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. • 22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way. (Matthew 22)

  7. Honesty - Choosing leaders • 3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. (Acts 6)

  8. Honesty - Choosing leaders

  9. Honesty - Who we listen to • 7 And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath. • 8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job. • 9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job. • 10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. (Job 42)

  10. Honesty - Everyday Life • 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? • 10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable? • 11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? (Micah 6)

  11. Ananias and Sapphira

  12. Honesty - Everyday life • 35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. • 36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. • 37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: • 38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. (Luke 6)
