PDRP Macclesfield • The longest running PDRP was established between the Faculty and Macclesfield District General Hospital Nursing and Practice Development Unit in 2005 • Now East Cheshire NHS Trust (ECNHST) the partnership aligns academics with practice staff in the ICU and HDU to work on practice development research. • The aim of the work of both parties is to impact positively on the patient journey • So far the team have written, researched and developed new practice and protocols in the areas of :- • Developing critical appraisal tools • Rest periods for patients • Writing chapters in books • Managing variance when guidelines conflict • Accreditation of the Critical Care Skills course • Central Venous Catheter good practice tools box • Assessment of pain in people in coma’s • PTSD experiences of ITU (future work with staff and patients)
