Students from 11th grade at Miguel Antonio Caro School write in English, they write as if they were writing in Spanish, showing an evidence of interference. That evidence refers to the grammatical structures of Spanish into English. This interference makes their writings difficult to read and understand which means that cross linguistic influence is present in their writings. According to this, we want to describe how that influence affects students’ composition outcome.
Research objectives • General • to describe the way cross-linguistic differences affect students’ composition outcome. Specific • To characterize the major cross linguistic influences which affect students’ compositions • To analyze the role of pair work activities in the composition process
