  1. Welcome to Anderson HS Mr. Phillip Bristow Pre-AP World History

  2. About Me Graduated in 2005 with a degree in History and Political Science from Texas A&M. Graduate Level Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School of Government (Texas A&M) Teaching Certificate from Texas State University – Social Studies Composite 1styear at Anderson High School

  3. This year…. This course is designed to push students into college level work. Students are expected to learn the information and then synthesize ideas. There will be a lot of hypothetical and abstract questioning. With the removal of the World History EOC Exam, we are able to go more in-depth and include previously excluded units Students will be writing at least 2 major essay each semester, and several shorter free-response questions throughout the semester. Grades on essays will be determined less on structure, and more on how well the student supports their position. There is an AP World History Exam however this class does not prepare students to take that exam. Students are able to take the exam if they and you decide to, but extra preparation would need to be conducted outside of class.

  4. Important Information • Unit 2 Test will be Next Tuesday and Wednesday (9/17, 9/18) • Tests are typically 30-40 multiple choice, paired with either 1 longer essay or 2-3 short response questions • Students will have the entire block to complete if needed • Powerpoint lectures and homework are posted on my website everyday. If there is a file required to complete the homework, I will attach the file to the assignment online as a spare copy • This class does move fast so students need to come to me if they need help or missed a day.
