  2. A knowledgeable Physician, Trina Cofield is highly recognized for her philanthropic efforts. She participates in several church activities and has volunteered for the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. She is married and has two children, and likes to spend time with her family. Moreover, she also enjoys reading and traveling.

  3. Academic qualification Trina Cofield attended the University of Miami to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Science, with majors in Biology. She graduated from Howard University Medical School- an eminent educational institute that provides exceptional quality medical education and prepares physicians and other health-care providers to serve the underserved. The medical school emphasizes developing skills of life-long learning and producing leaders in medicine.

Member of American Physiological Society Founded in 1887, the American Physiological Society aims at promoting the advancement of physiology and facilitating discourse among American physiologists. It offers a wide variety of membership categories for people of different ages and interest levels. It publishes 14 scholarly, peer-reviewed journals that cover specialized aspects of physiology. Moreover, the society has various committees such as Chapter Advisory Committee, Animal Care and Experimentation, Perkins Memorial Fellowship, Trainee Advisory and Women in Physiology.

Member of National Medical Association Trina Cofield is also a well-respected member of National Medical Association- the oldest and largest national organization that represents African American physicians and their patients in the U.S. As a national professional and scientific organization, NMA emphasizes enhancing the quality of health among minorities through its community health education, membership, professional development, research and partnership with federal and private agencies. It promotes collective interests of patients and physicians of African descent and has served as conscience of medical profession since its inception.

Member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society Trina Cofield is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society- an academic society that strives to fulfill its mission of advocating excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. The society funds numerous fellowships, academic awards and visiting scholar programs. Its three book awards are the Phi Beta Kappa award in Science, the Christian Gauss Award, and the Ralph Waldo Emerson Award. .
