  3. Purpose • How can we develop a system for classifying shoes?

  5. Procedures • Remove right shoe • Place on table • Find 3 characteristics that all the shoes have • Divide this group into 2 subgroups • Divide until you only have ONE shoe per subgroup

  6. Procedures • Pass these shoes to the next group • Classify them using your system

  8. Data Analysis • What were some common characteristics for classifying your shoes (ALIENS – honors) ? • Did you have trouble classifying them? Explain. • Was it difficult to use your system for the new shoes (ALIENS – honors)? Explain. • Is there only one way to classify your shoes (ALIENS – honors) ? Explain. • How can you make you system better?
