Theater Terms 1. Dance Pre-Done. Like a bee, dancing to tell the other workers where there are flowers. The Dance P re-Done was a story, told through dance that ancient people used to tell about the hunt. It later developed into the theater we have today . Dialogue.

  2. Dance Pre-Done • Like a bee, dancing to tell the other workers where there are flowers. The Dance Pre-Done was a story, told through dance that ancient people used to tell about the hunt. It later developed into the theater we have today.

  3. Dialogue • A Conversation betweentwoormorepersons. Vizzini:  We'll reach the cliffs by dawn. To Inigo. Why are you doing that? Inigo:  Making sure nobody's follow us. Vizzini:  That would be inconceivable. Buttercup:  Despite what you think, you will be caught. And when you are, the prince will see you all hanged. Vizzini:  Of all the necks on this boat, Highness, the one you should be worrying about is your own. Pause.  Stop doing that!  We can all relax, it's almost over. Inigo:  You are sure nobody's follow us? Vizzini:  As I told you, it would be absolutely, totally, and in all other ways, inconceivable. No one in Guilder knows what we've done, and no one in Florin could've gotten here so fast. Pause. Out of curiosity, why do you ask? Inigo:  Oh, it's nothing, suddenly, I just happen to look behind us and something is there. Vizzini:  What? Rises. Probably some local fisherman out for a pleasure cruise at night... through eel infested waters. Buttercup dives overboard, and starts swimming away.Vizzini:  Wha-wh- Go in! Get after her!

  4. Monologue • apartofadramainwhichasingle actor speaks alone; soliloquy. MRS. CAUDLE: Bah! That's the third umbrella gone since Christmas. What were you to do? Why, let him go home in the rain, to be sure. I'm very certain there was nothing about him that could spoil. Take cold? Indeed! He doesn't look like one of the sort to take cold. Besides, he'd have better taken cold than taken our umbrella. Do you hear the rain, Mr. Caudle? I say, do you hear the rain? And, as I am alive, if it isn't Saint Swithin's day! Do you hear it against the windows? Nonsense, you don't impose upon me. You can't be asleep with such a shower as that! Do you hear it, I say? Oh, you do hear it? Well that's a pretty flood, I think, to last for six weeks; and no stirring all the time out of the house. Pooh! don't think me a fool, Mr. Caudle. Don't insult me.

  5. Soliloquy • A dramatic or literary form of discourse in which a character talks to himself or herself or reveals his or her thoughts without addressing a listener.   10. Presentational Theater A play in which the actor acknowledges the audience AS the audience. Musicals.
