Newhall Library • Volunteer opportunities everyday from 3-7 (shelving, sweeping, organizing, playing board games with children) • Consistent and committed volunteers can apply to tutor elementary school children on Thursdays and Fridays • Teen tech assistants help with computer assistants (available daily, must apply) • Library Teen Clean Sweep is every month on the first Saturday • Crafty Kids: help out monthly with a craft activity

Newhall Library • Fill in the sign-up sheet at the end of the meeting • Two necessary forms—Teen Volunteer Program Parent Authorization form and the Library Volunteer Application • Two Types of Volunteers: • Long-term—can specialize, must attend orientation on Friday, March 8 from 4:30-5:30 • Short-term—can volunteer any day from 3-7, only allowed to sweep and/or organize

  7. Gentle Barn • The Gentle Barn takes in animals that are not wanted or abused. With gentle care and special treatments (such as acupuncture), the Gentle Barn gets animals to trust humans again and back to their health. • The Gentle Barn has helped over 100 animals Mission - To rescue, rehabilitate and give sanctuary to abused animals. Through the interaction with the animals at the Gentle Barn people learn reverence for all life

  8. Gentle Barn • To be in this project, you must first attend an orientation at the Gentle Barn and visit some of the animals • You can volunteer at the Gentle Barn on Sundays. You must be there for the whole shift which is from 9:30 - 2:30 • You can volunteer for as many Sundays as you want • Learn more at gentlebarn.org • Visit their virtual barn where you can see the animals and read their stories

Volunteer Opportunities • CAHSEE Set-Up • Monday, March 11th at 6:15 inthe Gym. • Speech and Debate Tournament • Friday, April 19th •  Saturday, April 20th • Sunday, April 21st • Students will have the option of signing up for slots of 4-8 hours. • *Sign-up for either event with Alex and/or Jinhoo at the end of the meeting

Division/Region events • Region 7 Ohana Night! • Who: D03N Starfish, D03S Wolves, D16 White TIgers, D25E Koalas, and D25W Pufferfish • When: Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 3-9 • Where: Newhall Boys and Girls Club • 24909 Newhall Ave. Santa Clarita, CA 91321 • Why: to celebrate an amazing year of service. funds will also benefit PTP • Ticket Fee: $15 preorder, $20 at the door • February DCM • Feb 23rd, time and location to be announced
