  2. TP: “To compare and contrast our sun to other stars in the sky.”How are Stars Classified? There are four criteria to classify stars: Temperature- how hot the star is; reflected by its color . Luminosity- measures how bright a star is and how much energy it emits compared to our sun Color- blue (hot) through red (cool) Size- how small or massive a star is.

TP: “To compare and contrast our sun to other stars in the sky.”Class Activity Student 1: Find the following stars and write down what 1) stage of life they are in and 2) their color, and their temperature: Procyon B, Proxima Centauri , Sun, Pollux, Betelgeuse Student 2:Find the following stars and write down their 1) temperature and 2) luminosity. 40 Eridani B, Sirius, Spica, Aldebaran, Rigel Student 3:Locate one star from each stage of life and collect the following data for each star: Name, Luminosity, Temperature, Color, and Stage of Life
